A workshop is being held in Karachi on August 30 and 31 on the subject "Credit Risk Exposures and Risk Management" for enhancing Basel II compliance capacity. The training will cover VAR, C-VAR and Stress Testing, using computer-based exercises and tools such as Merton's Model to aid banking risk management professionals in upgrading of their skills and knowledge base.
The objective of the training is to assist practitioners in strengthening risk management standards and highlight methods of aligning risk with capital, both being areas of Basel II implementation identified by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in its Banking System review 2007.
Trainer for the workshop is Dr Jeffrey Lim, a regional risk management and financial derivatives expert, who is a consultant trainer with the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance and whose firm consults for the central banks of Indonesia and Brunei.TXT Solaris, Management Consultants is arranging the workshop.-PR
