PML-Q receives over 400 applications for tickets

The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) has so far received over 400 applications for party tickets for the National Assembly seats in the next general elections.
The last date to submit the applications is August 25, but there is possibility to extend the last date of submitting applications for the party tickets, party sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday.
The party's Central Election Cell had issued 1,100 application forms so far. The provincial bodies of the party had also issued thousands of forms for grant of party tickets for provincial assembly seats and received quite a good number of applications.
Imtiaz Ranjha, who was assigned the task of scrutinising the applications, heads the cell. He said 13 applications were rejected so far because of submitting incomplete documents along with application forms.
The candidates for National Assembly including reserved seats for women and minorities were required to submit their applications to the Central Secretariat of the PML with non-refundable amount of Rs 30,000 while the candidates for the provincial assemblies are submitting their applications for the tickets of the PML at the provincial headquarters of the party along with non-refundable fee of Rs 20,000, the sources added.
The sources said a 20-member Parliamentary Board led by PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will finalise the tickets next month. The board will also take up the matter of adjustment of seats with other coalition partners during the finalisation of the tickets for the PML candidates, the sources added.
Moreover, the leader of PML Punjab Women Wing and Provincial Parliamentary Secretary, Tevta Rubina Sulehri Noor has submitted application for the ticket of PML. She accompanied by Muslim League ladies went Muslim League House where she submitted application for the PML ticket for women reserved seats.
