28 newly constructed school buildings handed over to tribesmen

As many 28 new schools buildings constructed by the USAID and Japanese government in Fata have been handed over to the respective tribesmen for improving literacy rate, an official said on Thursday.
Talking to APP here, Gohar Din Khan, Director Construction Reconstruction Schools Buildings (CRSB) in Fata said that it was the long awaited demand of the people of tribal areas. Six schools each in Khyber and Mohmand agencies, five in Bajaur agency, nine in Kurram agency and three in FR Bannu have been constructed, he said.
Likewise, construction work on 37 more schools buildings by the USAID was in progress in different tribal areas. Similarly, Japanese government will construct 65 more schools of which 35 are under construction, he added. To give further impetus to development process in Fata and complete the ongoing projects, Gohar Din said that USAID has increased its grant from Rs 150 million to Rs 325 million, while the government of Japan has pledged to increase its financial assistance from Rs 150 million to Rs 325 million.
