The President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), Nasir Khan has expressed great concern over the alarming increase in prices of life saving drugs by the multinational companies. He regretted the inconvenience cause to the people as doctors proscribe expensive medicines of the multinational companies that are far beyond the reach of commoners.
Khan said that at times artificial shortages of life saving medicines are created just to increase their prices. He also lamented that it is very unfortunate that the same drugs of multinational companies are sold at cheaper prices in the neighbouring countries. He criticised the concerned authorities for not regulating the mechanism to check and control the prices of important & life saving drugs.
