26 Aug, 2007

Attorney General of Pakistan, Malik Muhammad Qayyum on Saturday left for Saudi Arabia along with his family to perform Umrah. Talking to APP by telephone from Lahore before his departure, the Attorney General dispelled the impression about his visit to Saudi Arabia being given by various private TV channels.
He said, "I am going to Saudi Arabia along with my family for performing Umrah. I have no official agenda or message of someone for someone. I will spend three days in Saudi Arabia and return to Pakistan on Tuesday."
When asked about his visit at this time when the Supreme Court had given decision in a case in which Saudi Arabia was discussed as a friendly and brotherly country as part of the undertaking reached between Sharif brothers and the government, Qayyum said, "No, not at all. My visit is aimed at only to perform Umrah." He said, "I will pray for my country, for my nation, for my family and only this is purpose of my visit."
