Pakistan Muslim League Chief Chaudhri Shujaat Hussain dispelled the impression given by Benazir Bhutto that IJI-like alliance was being formed to block PPP once again so that it could not come into power and said that PML-Q was holding dialogue with all political parties including PPP and PML-N without any pre-conditions.
Talking to newsmen at Multan airport on Saturday he said that we are in contact with PPP, PML-N and other political parties. Chaudhri Shujaat Hussain said that the international community is trying to unite and come closer and we should also follow the world and forge unity in our ranks to meet the internal subversion and external threats.
To a Question he categorically denied that President General Pervez Musharraf got any oath from the parliamentarians to exercise their right of vote in his favour in presidential election. He said that Pakistan's defence is in safe hands and there was no threat to our future and our frontiers. He said that all political parties in the parliament want reconciliation.
To a question, he justified the operation on Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa and said that we had tried our best to avert the operation but management of Lal Masjid did not agree.
Consequently law enforcing agencies launched an operation. He declined to comment on the judgement of Supreme Court and said that our Government would implement the judgement in letter and spirit. Later he met Makhdoom Javed Hashmi to condole the death of his younger brother. Federal Minister for Information Muhammad Ali Durrani also accompanied him.
