The profit after tax of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has declined to Rs 2,036.214 million in the half year period ended on June 30 as compared to Rs 2,060.803 million earned in the corresponding period last year.
The board of directors of the company, in its meeting held here on Tuesday, declared that the earning per share stood at Rs 25.12 in the period under review against Rs 25.42 in the same period last year.
"The company announced its earning well above the expectations as the company's distribution expenses were reduced," Hettish Karmani, an analyst at Atlas Capital Markets, said, and added that the company's distribution expenses were well below that expectations.
Informing the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company stated that the its turnover increased to Rs 27.483 billion in the six-month period in 2007 against Rs 24.265 billion in the same period last year.
The distribution cost of the company stood at Rs 273.375 million in this period against Rs 216.550 million previously, while the administrative expenses were Rs 181.846 million against Rs 147.622 million. The company's profit before tax declined to Rs 3,135.930 million in the six-month period this year against Rs 3,151.150 million earned in the comparable period in 2006.
