Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that people-friendly government policies and effective implementation of mega uplift projects have brought a positive change in the lives of the masses, and that is why more and more people are joining the Pakistan Muslim League (PML).
He was addressing a large delegation of councillors and nazims from Gujranwala led by former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Lala Ghulam Sarwar who met with him here at the Chief Minister's House. The visitors expressed their confidence in the PML, and announced to join the party. Punjab Ministers Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal and Suhail Zaffar Cheema were also present, according to a handout on Thursday.
The Chief Minister welcomed the visitors in the PML fold, observing that the PML government was the only one that delivered on its promises, unlike the past regimes whose tall claims had served neither the country nor the nation. He said the party's strength sprang from the confidence reposed by the people, which was the result of the mega development achieved by the present government at the grassroots level.
