LPG distributors hail ECC decision

31 Aug, 2007

LPG Distributors Association Pakistan's (LPGDAP) Chairman Hadi Khan has appreciated Economic Co-ordination Committee's (ECC) decision allowing producers to sell liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in accordance with the market situation that will provide relief to consumers.
"The ECC decision to allow producers to sell LPG at lower prices will also help save the huge investment of LPG distributors," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Khan, who is also Senior Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), said that the ECC decision was in the national interest, however, producers of the private and public sectors would have to make joint efforts for the success of this policy.
He urged the producers to keep in mind the interest of all shareholders, including marketing companies, distributors and consumers while pricing the LPG. The responsible attitude of the producers in this regard could get the LPG industry out of the crisis, he added.
