Four killed in van-truck collision

Four passengers were killed and six others received severe injuries when a van collided with a truck near village Bhatti Gujar in the jurisdiction of Kalar Kahar Police Station. The van JME-1285 was on its way to Joharabad from Rawalpindi when it collided with a truck DNA-7551 due to over-speeding.
Azher Hussain son of Hajio Dost Muhammad, a resident of Noor Pur Thal, Qazi Muhammad Imran son of Qazi Muhammad Saleem, a resident of Johar Abad, Muhammad Riaz son of Yaar Muhammad, resident of Mianwali and Ghulam Muhammad son of Muhammad Latif, resident of Khushab died on the spot while six others were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal.
The motorway police said the van was overtaking the truck when its tyre burst and it collided with a truck. An injured passenger Noor Muhammad told Kalar Kahar police that the van driver was driving fast and the passengers asked him to slowdown but the driver did not pay any heed to them. The driver went to sleep and the vehicle collided with the truck. The van driver was slightly injured and he managed to escape from the scene. Kalar Kahar police has registered the case for investigation
