Government has chalked out a plan for opening institutes like Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI) in other parts of the country as well to spread professional and technical skills amongst the youth and to control unemployment.
A source in Ministry of Communications told APP on Friday that the CTTI is being upgraded and it capacity is also being increased. He further said that under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), in present budget Rs 243 million had been allocated for enhancement of training capability of CTTI.
After the opening of new technical training institutes, Ministry of Communication plans to increase the number of trained students from these training institutes from 450 per year now to 4,500 per year. "CTTI is such an institution that provides job guarantee to maximum number of people after imparting technical knowledge to them", he said.
The Construction Machinery Training Institute is a unique institute of Pakistan where students get jobs even before completing their training courses, the source said.
He said that Rs 165 million have been earmarked in the PSDP for establishment of similar institutes in other parts of the country, so that the people may be provided professional qualification.
