High priority to ties with Pakistan: Abdullah Gul

The newly elected Turkish President Abdullah Gul has said that Turkey attaches high priority to its relations with Pakistan and he would make efforts to further strengthen the brotherly relationship. He was talking to Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, who telephoned him on Friday.
Kasuri congratulated Gul on his election as the President of Turkey, according to a Foreign Office press release issued here. On behalf of the government, Kasuri extended heartiest felicitations to President Abdullah Gul on his victory.
The foreign minister recalled close association with Abdullah Gul as the Foreign Minister of Turkey and the role both played to further strengthen the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey. The two sides reiterated their resolve to pursue a shared vision of peace and development for the peoples of both countries.
