Indonesia share prices are likely to trade stonger in the week ahead but US market sentiment will continue to influence the local bourse, a dealer said Friday. "There's a possibility for the market to trade stronger but any negative sentiment from the US market will easily affect our market," Lanang Trihardian from Erdhika Elit told AFP.
But he said that country's domestic economy and solid corporate fundamentals would limit any possible losses. Trihardian said that mining and banking stocks would be favoured in the coming week. For the week ending August 31, the Jakarta Stock Exchange composite index gained 51,230 points or 2.4 percent to finish at 2,194.34. Daily average volume was 4.49 billion shares valued at 3.5 trillion rupiah (372.34 million dollars).
