The Defence Day of Pakistan will be celebrated with usual enthusiasm and zeal in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial Tehsils of Sialkot district on 6th September. The daylong programmes would start by special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country and for the early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the Sialkot.
On this occasion Quran Khawani for the martyrs of September 1965 war will also be held at various places in the district. The Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag hoisting ceremony would be held under the auspices of Tehsil Municipal Administration Sialkot and Speaker National Assembly Choudary Amir Hussain will be the chief guest on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that Hilal-e-Istiqlal was awarded to Sialkot for demonstrating great courage and unity during September 1965 war besides the biggest tank battle was fought in Chawinda after World War-II.
Meanwhile, several social, cultural, educational institutions and literary organisations have also finalised their programmes for paying rich tributes to the martyrs of September 1965 war as well as highlighting the importance of the day.
