Honda holds annual suppliers conference

Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited held its annual suppliers conference at a local hotel here in which as many as 52 suppliers from all over the country attended. The company highlighted its last year's performance, projected sales volume for the next 5 years and its direction for the development of local vendor industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Atsushi Yamazaki, President & CEO of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited thanked the vendors for their efforts and support extended to the company for achieving production and sales targets. He said that Honda corporate philosophy revolved around two fundamental beliefs: "Respect for the individual and "The three joys". Honda's goal is to provide joy through its business, the joy of buying, the joy of selling and the joy of creating.
Yamazaki emphasised the need of paying attention to the essential issue of customer satisfaction.
Reviewing the history, the company chairman, Yusuf H. Shirazi, said that the last few years had been defining years for both the auto industry and Honda Atlas Cars. The ever-increasing volumes, expansion of capacity to over 50,000 units created a unique opportunity for the company. Due to these ongoing developments, frequent model changes, in line with the high standards some of Honda's business partners had to undergo a trying period during the lean periods. He said that the good news is that Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited have been able to put in place a recovery strategy and the results have started to reflect in its production and sales.
Regarding the global environment change, he said, no one could close borders anymore. "The truth is also that the success is for those who adopt to change, invest in the change, in technology, process and in order to adapt to changing product lines". Adding that "Let's move forward, now with Tariff Based System (TBS) for localisation".
