The Indian Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) will discuss climate change and global warming as well as the procedure to improve oversight of government's environmental projects at its forthcoming conference at New Delhi.
Somnath Chatterjee, MP, Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha, as well as President of Indian branch has invited Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro to this moot, sources said on Thursday. More than 300 parliamentarians are expected to attend the 53rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference beginning from September 21-30. The conference will coincide with a meeting of CPA Executive Committee in the last week of September.
CPA is Commonwealth's oldest parliamentary forum. The agenda of the 53rd conference was decided at a meeting of the CPA Executive Committee held in Limassol, Cyprus, last April.
