'Business journalism be promoted for economic revolution'

'Business Journalism' must be promoted to bring an economic revolution in the developing countries like Pakistan, and the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is playing its role to promote free, unbiased and impartial business reporting for development of democracy in Pakistan.
This was stated by Faraz-uddin Amjad, Deputy Programme Manager, in his lecture at a seminar on 'Economic Principles: Ideas for Writing Good Economic Stories'. The seminar was organised jointly by Centre for International Private Enterprise and Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was chaired by Anis Ahmed, president of MCCI.
He said that rapid population growth was causing unemployment of youths. He said that CIPE was also promoting development of legal and institutional structures. He said that Centre for International Private Enterprise was providing services in 100 developing countries, and had submitted recommendation about women entrepreneurs, and the government would mention them in the next trade policy, and procedure of financing would also be settled.
He said that there are only 450 companies which are enlisted in stock exchange while more than 50,000 companies are not listed which are doing business of up to Rs 20 million, and CIPE is providing basic know-how to such companies.
Earlier, President of MCCI, Anis Ahmed praised the efforts of Centre for International Private Enterprise for education of journalists in the business field. He said he hoped that this workshop would help in healthy commerce reporting in southern Punjab. Khurram Javed, Secretary of MMCI, present vote of thanks.
