Two new gardens of mango and citrus would be developed at botanical garden of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) campus in which all available varieties of both the horticultural crops will be cultivated for research purpose.
This was stated by Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad, Vice Chancellor UAF while inaugurating the plantation ceremony of mango orchard at botanical garden of the university. Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad added that to harmonise the research activity at various farms level, a directorate of farms has been established which is performing in right directions. He maintained that after the establishment of said directorate the production of various crops and milk has enhanced manifolds.
Professor Dr Bashir asked the scientists to developed need based technologies in the field the livestock and agriculture particularly processing mechanism in food and dairy sector should be developed. He lauded the efforts of directorate of farms regarding boosting the research activities and productivity at farm level.
Professor Dr Ehsan Ullah, Director Farms highlighted the targets of directorate and said that various demonstration plots of 42 departments of the university are being developed at new campus, Pars and Proka Farm. He added that all the land has been levelled with laser technology and these demonstration plots would be beneficial for student community and various delegates from every walk of life. Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad planted a new variety of mango plant and offered prayer for the outcome of this important project. All the deans, directors and principal officers also planted the mango plants.
