Reacting to the deportation of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) central Vice-President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that it is a matter between Nawaz, his guarantors, and the courts of Pakistan.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Yousaf Raza Gilani said that Nawaz Sharif voluntarily gave up his right to live in the country. "It is a matter between Nawaz Sharif, his guarantors and courts of Pakistan," he said.
"The PPP has noted that Nawaz Sharif has been deported to Jeddah following his return to Pakistan this morning. Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had rightly ruled that a citizen has a right to return to Pakistan," he added.
Gilani also said the PPP has noted that Nawaz Sharif admitted a deal brokered with foreign government for his benefit. "The PPP leadership refused a similar deal for self-benefit.
