All Pakistan Democratic Movement (APDM) took out rally here on Tuesday against deportation of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and mass arrests of political leaders and workers across the country.
The rally was led by Maulana Abdul Wahid Qureshi, district president of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and was addressed by leaders of various political parties including Saleem Tareen of Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, Mehrab Gul of National Awami Party, Nisar Chandio advocate of Muslim League (N), Hot Khan Gadahi of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party and others.
They said time has come when General Musharraf should not only be removed but be prosecuted for violation of constitution and contempt of court. They said despite clear orders of Supreme Court that Nawaz Sharif and his family can come to Pakistan and can live here, the General did not allow him to remain in Pakistan and handed him to Saudi Arabia like fugitive.
They said on the one hand government had given Nawaz Sharif warrants of arrest and told him that he was under arrest while on the other he was taken out of country instead of sending him to jail.
