13 Sep, 2007

Private exporters reported the sale of 168,000 tonnes of wheat for delivery to unknown destinations in the 2007/08 marketing year, the US Agriculture Department said Wednesday. Of that total, 70,000 tonnes were hard red spring wheat, 52,500 tonnes were hard red winter wheat and 45,500 tonnes were white wheat, USDA said.
The marketing year for wheat began on June 1. US exporters must report any US or optional origin export sales activity of at least 100,000 tonnes - except 20,000 tonnes or more for soybean oil - made in one day to a single destination by the following business day. Sales of smaller quantities must be reported weekly to USDA's.
