Police to ensure export containers' safe transportation

Exports are backbone of national economy and police would take necessary measures on priority basis for the safe transportation of export containers.
Addressing a meeting of Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) here on Wednesday night, Babar Sarfraz Alpa, S.P Lallpur Town said that police patrolling was being increased with immediate effect on the roads used for the movement of exports containers.
He said that police authorities in other districts would also be requested to take similar measures in their respective areas. He claimed that overall police performance had increased with experience and professionalism. In this connection, he particularly mentioned the registration of cases and said that approximately 80 percent cases had been registered during last nine months without any "Sifarish" or manoeuvring.
About cases of car snatching, he explained some hot brand of vehicles, automatic door locks and tracker had played its role in reducing the car theft cases. He said that police had recently traced a gang involved in car snatching. "A lady is also included in it," he said and added that they had taken it as "Test Case" to discourage this trend immediately.
About police patrolling, he said that patrolling would also be increase during school hours while measures were being taken to establish a purposeful coordination between Highway and Local Police. He said that criminals should be regularly checked, discouraged and nailed as a result of extensive patrolling.
He also assured that container snatching case of Sadaqat Textile Mills would be registered positively on Thursday. Earlier, chairman PTEA Mian Zahid Aslam expressed concern over the prevailing law and order situation and expressed apprehension that continuity of snatching containers could effect exports particularly from the up country dry ports.
He demanded necessary and immediate measures to make the high ways a safe heaven in its true spirit. He also mentioned some specific incidents of car snatching and said that police should fully concentrate on improving the law and order situation.
