NCA chief opens paintings exhibition

Bashir Ahmed Head of Miniature Department National College of Arts (NCA) inaugurated the Group Exhibition of Paintings made by Urooj Chughtai, Mufakir Subhani, Kiran Saeed, Aakif Suri, Kausar Iqbal and Mizna Syed.
Urooj Chughtai said her concepts were inspired by motives and patterns used by Mughals and Persian artists. While Mufakir's concept was a blend of fantasy and tattoos, Kiran and Mizna's work was a fusion of contemporary ideas with an influence of traditionalism.
Kausar's work reflects a strong eye for detail. The minute of element was intricately detailed. Aakif Suri has a flair for experimentation. The technique of cutting, pasting and stitching symbolises his concept. Viewers at the exhibition appreciated the work of young artists. The exhibition featured existing and new artworks.
