Doctors of Nishtar Hospital Children Complex Institute of Cardiology and Fatima Jinnah hospital Multan observed complete strike to press the authorities for acceptance of their demands.
Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Multan chapter has further announced to observe 'Black day' on Saturday on the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi who is scheduled to visit Multan for opening of newly constructed building of Multan Press Club.
Addressing an emergency meeting President PMA Multan, Dr Salman Waris said that special secretary health Dr Ahmed Bilal and secretary health Punjab Raees Abbas Zaidi had been staying in Multan for the last three days but they did not take notice of doctors' protest nor did they invite PMA representatives for negotiations.
The meeting was also attended by Dr Waseem Rabbani General Secretary, Dr Masud-ur-Rauf Senior Vice President, Dr Shahid Rao, Dr Mazhar Chaudhry, Dr Asif Gurmani, Dr Najan Jamshed, Dr Imran Rafiq, Dr Waqas Imran and Dr Tariq Shaikh.
They reiterated their demands of special allowance for doctors, regularisation of contractual doctors and promotion of permanent doctors, which the Punjab government had announced recently.
