The Provincial Zakat Council has approved Rs 125 million for a special Ramazan Zakat package, "Guzara Allowance", under which Rs 500 would be given to each deserving person before Eidul Fitr out of the total 2.5 million deserving people throughout the province.
The decision was taken in the 101st meeting of the council, which held here with Chairman of the council, Justice (R) Muhammad Akram Baitu was in the chair. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Zakat & Ushr Punjab, Taufiq Ahmed Faiq, Administrator Zakat Punjab, Mian Abdullah, members PZC Hafiz Zubair Ahmad Zaheer, Dr Mehmood-ul-Hassan Arif, Muhammad Jar-Ullah Rizvi, Syed Muhammad Sham-ur-Rehman Mushhadi and Begum Hamid Rana.
Muhammad Akram Baitu said that the amount for the package which was transferred to Provincial Zakat Fund by Central Zakat Administration had been released to all District Zakat council.
Elaborating the details of Zakat funds to be disbursed among the deserving people, Secretary Zakat and Ushr said that under the programmer Rs 2.16 million has been allocated for District Attock, Rs 5.38m for Bahawalnagar, Rs 3.70m for Bahawalpur, Rs 1.96m for Bhakkar, Rs 1.88m for Chakwal, Rs 1.82m for D.G Khan, Rs 6.94m for Faisalabad, Rs 6.52m for Gujranwala, Rs 5.53m for Gujrat, Rs 3.04m for Hafiz Abad, Rs 5.89m for Jhang, Rs 1.62m for Jhelum, Rs 4.81 m for Kasur, Rs 3.50m for Khanewal, Rs 2.09m for Khushab, Rs 6.41m for Lahore, Rs 3.44m for Layyah, Rs 1.94m for Lodhran, Rs 2.00 m for Mandi Baha-ud-Din, Rs 1.44m for Mianwali, Rs 2.79m for Multan, Rs 2.60 m for Muzaffargarh, Rs 2.94m for Narowal, Rs 4.91m for Okara, Rs 2.86m for Pakpattan, Rs 4.15m for Rahim Yar Khan, Rs 1.32m for Rajanpur, Rs 5.83m for Rawalpindi, Rs 2.93m for Sahiwal, Rs 5.32m for Sargodha, Rs 3.34m for Sheikhupura, Rs 4.25m for Sialkot. Rs 3.03m for T.T. Singh, Rs 3.79m for Vehari and Rs 2.96m have been set aside for Nankana Sahib.
