Drug, CD dealers given week's deadline to wind up business

Haleem Zai tribe of Mohmand Agency have given one week deadline to drug and Computer CD dealers in busy Mandi Gandao bazaar of the agency to wind up their business or face demolition of their shops.
The warning was issued after holding of a jirga (gathering) of 600 elders of Haleem Zai tribe at Mian Mandi Gandao, 10 kilometres near Agency Headquarter Ghalanai. The jirga, while condemning business of drugs and obscene material in the agency, decided to put a ban on it and take strict action against persons involved in it. The participants of the jirga observed that drugs business and obscenity is causing a lot of problems in the area and is spreading social evil in the agency. Therefore, they added, ban should be imposed on its business in the area.
The jirga also decided that Qaumi Lashkar would take action against those who defy ban and would demolish their shops and houses. He said political administration would also take action against such elements under FCR.
