Rebate on textile items export enhanced

Fulfilling a major demand of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has enhanced duty drawback on export of viscose staple fibre yarn, acrylic staple fibre yarn, 100 percent polyester staple fibre yarn and other textile products from September 17, 2007.
The board has superseded SRO 610(I)/2007 through SRO 955(I)/2007 to revise duty drawback rates on the textile items. The duty drawback on the export of viscose staple fibre yarn has been enhanced from Rs 3.90 per kg to Rs 5.33 per kilogram; viscose staple fibre blended yarn (50 percent to 65 percent viscose staple fibre 50 percent to 35 percent cotton), from Rs 2.23 per kg to Rs 3.05 per kilogram and duty drawback on the export of viscose staple fibre blended yarn (15 percent to 30 percent viscose staple fibre 85 percent to 70 percent cotton) has been increased from Re 0.87 per kg to Rs 1.20 per kilogram.
The duty drawback on export of 100 percent acrylic staple fibre yarn has been raised from Rs 4.35 per kg to Rs 4.65 per kilogram; acrylic staple fibre blended yarn (50 percent to 65 percent acrylic staple fibre 50 percent to 35 percent cotton) from Rs 2.50 per kg to Rs 2.67 per kg and duty drawback on the export of acrylic staple fibre blended yarn (15 percent to 30 percent acrylic staple fibre 85 percent to 70 percent cotton) has been enhanced from Re 0.97 per kg to Rs 1.05 per kg.
The duty drawback on export of 100 percent polyester staple fibre yarn has been raised to Re.0.25 per kilogram; 100 percent viscose staple fibre yarn, from Rs 3.90 per kg to Rs 5.33 per kilogram and duty drawback on the export of 100 percent acrylic staple fibre yarn has been enhanced from Rs 4.35 per kg to Rs 4.65 per kilogram.
The reduced duty drawback on the export of grey fabrics, made of 100 percent cotton would be 0.03 percent of the fob value; grey readymade garments, made of 100 percent cotton, 0.23 percent of the fob value; grey made-ups ie bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc made of 100 percent cotton, 0.10 percent of the fob value; bleached readymade garments, made of 100 percent cotton, 0.44 percent of the fob value; bleached made-ups ie bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc made of 100 percent cotton, 0.31 percent of the f.o.b. value; dyed or printed or partially dyed or printed or screen printed fabrics, tapestry fabrics, made of 100 percent cotton, 0.71 percent of the f.o.b. value; dyed or printed or partially dyed or printed readymade garments made of 100 percent cotton, 0.90 percent of the fob value and duty drawback on the export of dyed or printed or partially dyed or printed made-ups ie bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc made of 100 percent would be 1.01 percent of the fob value.
Under the revised notification, duty drawback on the export of grey blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends) would be Re.0.25 per kilogram; bleached blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends), Re.0.74 per kilogram; dyed or printed blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre (applicable to all blends), Rs 2.44 per kilogram; grey blended garments, wearing apparel, 0.26 percent of the fob value; bleached blended garments, wearing apparel (all blends of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre), 0.35 percent of the fob value; dyed or printed blended garments, wearing apparel (all blends of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre), 0.67 percent of the fob value; bleached blended made ups ie bedwear, curtain, table linen etc (all blends of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre), 0.36 percent of the fob value; dyed or printed blended made ups ie bedwear, curtain, table linen etc (all blends of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre), 0.92 percent of the fob value and duty drawback on the export of grey or bleached or dyed or printed napkins and aprons made of 100 percent polyester staple fibre would be 0.24 percent of the fob value.
The duty drawback on the export of woven or knitted manmade fabrics which are neither dyed nor printed has been increased from 0.18 percent of the fob value to 0.36 percent of the fob value and rebate on the export of woven or knitted manmade fabrics which are dyed or printed has been increased from 0.32 percent of the fob value to 0.57 percent of the fob value.
The duty drawback on the export of blankets all sorts made predominantly of acrylic fibre has been raised from 0.91 percent of the fob value to 1.43 percent of the fob value and rate has been increased from 2.51 percent of the fob value to 2.79 percent of the fob value on the export of normal acrylic blankets made from acrylic yarn, polyester yarn and cotton yarn (not less than 70 percent acrylic).
There is no change in the duty drawback rates on export of bleached or un-bleached, dyed or un-dyed cotton waterproof or impregnated canvas, tarpaulin, tents, complete or in CKD condition with or without bamboos, kit bags and aprons; bleached or un-bleached or dyed or un-dyed non-waterproof or non-impregnated canvas, tarpaulin, tents, complete or in CKD condition with or without bamboos, kit bags and aprons (with or without inner dyed lining) and dyed or printed waterproof or impregnated canvas, tarpaulin, tents, complete or in CKD condition or waterproof or impregnated dyed bags made of blended yarn (applicable to all blends of polyester and cotton) or 100 percent polyester.
