Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Zulfiqar Ali Bokhari has constituted a four member Election Committee to hold SCBA elections 2007 on October 27. A SCBA notification issued here on Wednesday said that Hafiz S A Rehman Advocate Supreme Court Islamabad has been appointed Returning Officer.
Members of the election committee are Ayyaz Zahoor Syed (Balochistan) Zafar Abbas Syed, NWFP Akhtar Ali Mahmood, Sindh and Amir Alam Khan, Punjab. According to the rotation formula it is Punjab's turn for the office of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Some members of the Bar are canvassing that Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan be elected unopposed for his yeoman's services in the movement for independence of judiciary and restoration of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
