Rs 177 million uplift works underway in Gulshan Town

Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town is implementing development projects costing Rs 177.30 million in Union Council (UC)-I, which also include city government's schemes worth Rs38.10 million. This was stated by Nazim Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Wasey Jalil in a meeting with the office-bearers of Kathiawar Welfare Society in UC-I.
He said the development schemes include construction of road from Seelani Chowk to Amir Khusro road at a cost of Rs40 million. This road will have water and sewerage disposal system, parking base, storm water drainage etc. He informed that development schemes worth millions of rupees are under implementation at Tipu Sultan and Jauhar roads while works costing Rs98.30 million have been carried out at Alamgir Road and Shabbirabad.
Chairman of the Association requested the Nazim for removal of encroachments, elimination of illegal water and electricity connections and improvement in water and sewerage systems. Wasey Jalil said that a campaign is going on for removal of encroachments and traffic control specially during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Many roads have been widened after removal of encroachments, which brought improvement in traffic flow.
