Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Ehsan-ul-Haq has said the nation can be rightly assured that the armed forces are fully prepared to defend by all means available the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
He was addressing a farewell Darbar during his visit to Army Air Defence here on Monday, says an ISPR press release. Commenting on the development of the armed forces, the Chairman JCSC, who is also the Colonel-in-Chief of Army Air Defence, said that the government is conscious of the needs of the armed forces and the present defence capability is being substantially enhanced and we are moving ahead with our conventional as well as strategic forces.
The government has allocated substantial resources for the modernisation of the armed forces. We are moving in the right direction and according to plan to forge them into modern and cohesive armed forces befitting the Pakistani nation, he reiterated.
He urged the officers and men of Pakistan Army to further enhance their battle effectiveness and to make full use of the latest technology infused in the armed force.
He also took round of the Air Defence Centre and attended a detailed briefing about the development projects undertaken by centre. Commander Air Defence Command, Lieutenant General Muhammad Ashraf Saleem, General Officer Commanding, Major General M.A.Q. Khan Shahid, and other senior military officers, junior commissioned officers and jawans were present on the occasion.
