They said the lawyers had put up former Justice Wajihuddin Ahmad as their presidential candidate so that candidature of General Musharraf could be contested at all forums.
They called upon the lawyers to come to Islamabad on September 27, the day nomination papers of Wajihuddin Ahmad would be filed in the Election Commission. The Committee demanded of the MMA to resign from the National Assembly and Balochistan Assembly and dissolve the NWFP Assembly to put pressure on the ruling junta.
They said former Justice Wajihuddin would arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday evening where he would be accorded a warm welcome. They thanked former Justice Wajih to accept the lawyers request to contest the presidential election so that the nation could be freed from the military rule.
