Eight legislators from the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday handed over their resignations to the leader of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) in the Provincial Assembly, Chaudhry Asghar Ali Gujjar.
The Jamaat MPAs, including Chaudhry Asghar Ali Gujjar, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Syed Ehsanullah Waqas, Arshad Bhaggu, Mohammad Waqas Khan, Chaudhry Mohammad Shaukat, Zaib un Nisa and Tahira Munir, told reporters at the Jamaat Headquarter, Mansoora that they have submitted their resignations to the MMA parliamentary leader. They said final decision would be taken after a meeting of the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM).
Criticising the government over aggravating law and order and the escalating price hike, they said General Pervez Musharraf was unacceptable neither in uniform no without uniform. They said they had full faith in the APDM leadership and would abide by all its decisions.
