Steps being taken for smooth availability of wheat flour: Ibad

Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has said that situation will further improve with the import of wheat and arrival of reserves in the market. He was talking to a delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, led by Maulana Asad Thanvi, which called on him at Governor House on Thursday.
The Governor informed that steps were being taken for availability of wheat flour, elimination of its hoarding and control on prices. The delegation apprised the Governor about various issues relating to Karachi and interior of Sindh.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad informed that availability of fresh fruits and vegetables by establishing more sabzi mundis, would help breakup the cartel involved in the price fluctuations. The delegation appreciated the Governor's efforts for steps taken for traffic flow, security of life and property and particularly addressing these matters ahead of start of Ramazan and before Eid-ul-Fitr. They observed that deployment of volunteers in Towns had cast positive impact in improving the traffic situation.
The Governor informed that steps were in hand to reduce hours of travelling from one area to the other in the city. In this regard he referred to results achieved from signal-free corridor from Sharea Faisal to SITE and said now second corridor from Surjani to Sahrea Faisal will prove helpful in the attainment of desired objective. He referred to construction of alternate route from Orangi's hillocks and said projects of similar nature in city's various areas would prove result-oriented in providing better communication facilities to people during the next few years.
He issued directives to concerned authorities for expansion of road from Surjani Town to Northern Bypass and construction of road from Maymarabad to Surjani Town.
The delegation recalled that Surjani Town was developed during the tenure of Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad when he held the department of Housing and now again people have great hopes in him with his interest in housing projects for people and development works.
The Governor also issued directives for supply of electricity to Surjani Cattle Colony, elimination of encroachments from Scheme-33, Gulzar-e-Hijri and handing over possession of plots to allottees. He also issued instructions for maintaining traffic flow at Banaras Chowk particularly during Sehri and Iftar timings.
