Former President of Pakistan and a central leader of PML, Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari on Thursday said that PPP by its participation in the presidential election has validated the exercise.
Talking to notables of various tribes and elite of the area in Choti Zairin (DG Khan), his hometown, the former president said the country is undergoing a critical phase and stressed on the dire need of national unity and consensus.
According to PML sources, Leghari also stressed upon all political parties to nominate their candidate(s) for the presidency, but cautioned them not to create "unrest" to benefit only the enemies of Islam and Pakistan.
He opined that to resign from the assemblies was no solution, rather the opposition leaders should participate in the presidential election in a positive manner in the supreme national interest.
Federal Minister for Telecommunication and Information Technology, Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, members of the assemblies, Amanullah Dareshak and Syed Abdul Aleem Shah, tehsil nazim, Mahmood Qadir Khan Leghari and others were also present on the occasion.
