29 Sep, 2007

A division bench of Sindh High Court comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Faisal Arab on Friday disposed of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's petition seeking permission to import a bullet-proof car for her use observing it as infructuous.
Today, when the matter was taken up, Deputy Attorney General Rizwan Ahmed Siddiqui informed court that Interior Ministry had issued NOC on Benazir Bhutto's application on September 25, 2007 and allowed her to import bullet-proof car. Applicant counsel Farooq Naek and Adnan Karim also confirmed it.
Benazir Bhutto's counsel Farooq Naek submitted that former Premier, scheduled to return next month, feared attacks during election campaign across the country. She is high profile personality and has legal right to use bullet-proof car for safety.
