Nowadays KESC is in serious crisis in all aspects. The situation is worse not only about power generation and distribution but also at the administrative level.
Everything is under change from the top to the bottom. Like beside staff layoffs and downsizing with certain measures to mechanised manpower the KESC management is also taking certain steps to reduce number of offices and zones etc. But all of these kinds of steps are causing problems for the consumers, specially those who pay thousands of rupees revenue to KESC.
After the merger of different zonal offices now these new offices are located in far flung areas. For reduction in expenditures current administration is taking steps to save money. But again consumers are suffering a lot.
For example the KESC management has decided to discontinue its contract with one reputed and well known courier service company. This company was hired to make sure on time delivery of the bills to the consumers at their door step. With this decision of abrupt discontinuation the consumers are in great trouble because of non-delivery of bills.
Now they have to go to the concerned billing offices to get their duplicate bills. This is causing inconvenience to them because first of all they do not know the exact location of billing office and there they have to stand in long queue to get duplicate bill and then they have to stand again in queue in front of the banks to pay bills on time to avoid late payment surcharge.
I do hope that the KESC top management will look into these serious issues because it is not only a matter affecting the consumers but also recoveries on time. It is the prime responsibility of KESC to facilitate all its consumers and to do something batter for them so they can get relief.
