Tunisia's state grains agency bought 75,000 tonnes of US corn (maize) for shipment in November at a tender last week, European traders said on Monday. Traders said the maize purchased was US No 3 yellow corn and that Tunis had paid $279.75 and $280.80 C&F, without specifying the price per tonne for the grain alone.
Tunisia's state grains agency, which holds regular tenders to buy wheat and barley, rarely purchases maize but traders said it had recently been asked to ensure feed supplies and the maize purchase was the second since the start of the season.
