Raw sugar futures slipped in early business on Tuesday on sales by small speculators with the market pinned in a range due to a dearth of leads, brokers said. "It's just sitting in a range and the locals are just jobbing it," a long-time floor dealer said.
ICE Futures electronic March sugar shed 0.05 cent to 9.88 cents per lb at 9:19 am EDT (1319 GMT), trading from 9.79 to 9.92 cents. Open-outcry March lost the same to 9.88 cents by 9:19 am, dealing from 9.80 to 9.90 cents. Open-outcry volume Monday was 11,019 lots and screen trade amounted to 60,469 lots.
