07 Oct, 2007

Pakistan Muslim League (N) Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has termed re-election of Pervez Musharraf in uniform from the present assemblies as worst example of rigging and violation of constitution.
In a statement released on Saturday, Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that the re-election of Musharraf, as President in uniform was shameful incident for the whole nation, political system and judiciary in 21st century.
He noted that there was no example in the country's history that the whole opposition resigned before the Presidential election which proved that Musharraf's re-election was the most controversial. The PML (N) Information Secretary claimed that the re-election of Musharraf was unconstitutional and it was the worst rigging as the assemblies which tenure is going to end could not elect the President for the next five years.
He went on to say that Musharraf would become further weak after the drama of Presidential election and the boat of his allies would also sink. Ahsan Iqbal said Musharraf put basis on his election on corruption pardon on the name of National Reconciliation, which was black sign for the nation. He said that it was regrettable that Pakistan peoples' Party leadership forget his past and join the ruling PML (Q) alliance only for writ up of some corruption cases.
