08 Oct, 2007

A spokesman of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has refuted the news in print and electronic media regarding the adduction of Frontier Corps soldiers in different areas of North Wazirstan Agency.
He termed it a baseless propaganda perpetrated by the militants and their supporters after suffering reverses in recent days, unequivocally clarified that no such abduction has taken place.
He further clarified that no soldier of either the Tochi Scout or Thal Scouts was taken hostage in Spin Worm area, where contrary to the reports, all attacks on the army and frontier corps posts were effectively repulsed, giving miscreants heavy losses to the tune of almost 75 dead during last two weeks.
The last few days have seen tight turn against miscreant activities in the area, thanks to the army and frontier corps troops for undertaking heroic action against hostile elements. Evidently, these actions have left the militants with the options of rumour mongering recently seen circulated in media.
