08 Oct, 2007

The field inspection team of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has seized a cable television network, namely 'Bliss Communication Network' (BCN), for relaying proscribed/prohibited channels and exclusive 'In-House CD channels' here on Saturday in connection with campaign against blunt violators CTV operators of Pemra Rules & Regulations.
Pemra Assistant General Manager (Enforcement), Faisalabad, Zahid Nadeem, who conducted raids, stated that 'Bliss Communication Network' was involved in relaying prohibited Indian and foreign channels, for which 'smart cards' such as 'Multi Choice' and 'Star' were also broadcasting channels such as 'Star Bought', 'MM', 'MM2', Series, M-net, and other proscribed channels etc. BCN was also found involved in relaying 16 in-house CD channels, contrary to the allowed limited of two in-house CD channels.
More vigorous efforts would be taken for establishing Authority's writ among its licensees by exercising similar efforts in future against unscrupulous CVT operators that are polluting re-broadcasting sector.
