08 Oct, 2007

Senator Babar Awan has said that in the coming general elections Pakistan People Party will contest with All Pakistan Democratic Movement (APDM). Nawaz Sharif is now criticising Benazir Bhutto because the government has withdrawn all baseless cases against her.
He said that in the past Nawaz Sharif beg pardon from Benazir and Asif Zardari in written for making illegal cases against them. "Nawaz Sharif must feel ashamed for criticising Benazir Bhutto,' he said.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday he said that his party could make Makhdoom Ameen Faheem Prime Minister before Sharif Brothers Departure for Jeddah. "But we did not make any compromise with the dictatorship for the personal interest because national interest had always been the top priority of the Pakistan People Party," he said.
After the implementation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), 7 cases of MMA, 2 cases of MQM, 06 cases of Farooq Leghari family, 31cases of federal ministers and MNAs, 5 cases of the Pakistan people's party would be dismissed, he maintained. He also demanded accountability of five generals and their sons who, he said, earned millions of rupees in the name of the Afghanistan Jehad and now they were criticising Benazir Bhutto.
