The comprehensive victory of General Pervez Musharraf in Saturday's presidential election is the success of the people of Pakistan. This was stated by the Chief Minister of Sindh, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, here on Sunday.
He was addressing the provincial ministers, advisers, parliamentarians and others who had come to the Chief Minister house here to extend congratulations on the win of President Musharraf.
The chief minister said that President Musharraf has put the country on the path of democracy. The assemblies are completing their five years' term whereas there was no such example in the country in the past. He was of the view that there was no doubt that soon Pakistan too would be among the developed countries of the world.
Dr Arbab stated that the country needed the inspiring leadership of President Musharraf. He said that the success of President Musharraf would further strengthen the cause of democracy.
Dr Arbab thanked all those who had come to extend congratulation on the victory of President Musharraf. He said that Pakistan is strong at the moment and that we all will serve the country and its people with the best of our abilities.
He was of the view that whatever would be the set up after the coming general elections, would be beneficial for the country. The Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Ms. Raheela Tiwana, praised the Sindh Chief Minister on the occasion.
Representing the business community, Siraj Kassim Teli said that the success of President Musharraf was necessary for the continuation of policies in the country.
