Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Sunday terming the re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf beneficial for country's economy said it would ensure continuity of his policies.
The minister while talking to APP said President Musharraf's re-election would further strengthen democratic institutions besides improving life of common man.
He added people are happy with President Musharraf's victory as they wanted to see completion of ongoing development projects started by him in various parts of the country. Jatoi said due to personal interest of President Musharraf several mega projects have been started in power sector to reduce gap between demand and supply.
He said besides ongoing projects several new projects are being planned in this sector on the direction of President Musharraf in connection with his water vision.
He said securing of highest number of votes by President Musharraf is historical which shows that people want promotion of democracy and development in the country. He termed the re-election helpful for political environment of the country.
