'Women Entrepreneur Cities' planned in Punjab

Punjab government is actively considering establishing "Women Entrepreneur Cities" in major industrial towns including Sialkot aimed at encouraging women entrepreneurship in Punjab.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that the concept of setting up of these proposed cities is to provide all facilities to the businesswomen under one roof enabling them to work with devotion and in a pressure-free environment.
Like other cities of the country, a large number of women folk belonging to Sialkot are engaged with different business fields including readymade garments, fashion designing and jewellery etc and are playing their instrumental role in strengthening national exchequer.
Besides, the Punjab government had earmarked more than Rs 300 million for extending soft loans facilities to the businesswomen enabling to upgrade their workplaces as well as for setting up of new industrial units in the Punjab, sources added.
To facilitate the women entrepreneurship, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) had already established a separate wing for extending necessary guidance and support to the businesswomen.
