Badin coastal areas lack basic civic facilities: World Bank

A member of World Bank (WB) team visiting Badin district Hameeda Saood Shah said that hundreds of thousands of people living in Badin coastal area are deprived of basic necessities like potable water, education and health. This she said Sunday while addressing a socio-economic study meeting named Tidel Link Lake System here.
She said that according to team's survey, people belonging to these areas were living a very low standard life as they are deprived of sanitation, education, health and roads. She said that there is no proper medical facility to pregnant women for delivery in this coastal strip.
On this occasion, Naib-District Nazim Badin Azizullah Dero and others including Iqbal Haider, Kanjhar Memon, Abdullah Sheedi, Fiaz Abbasi and Ismail Jafri said that civic conditions would be worsened if government failed to pay attention to problems of these areas, especially those related to potable water, agriculture and fishing.
