Primary level Call to use mother tongue as medium of instruction

Eminent professor and former Principal, Gorden College, Khawaja Masud on Sunday, stressed to use mother tongue as a medium of instruction at primary level for effective promotion of literacy in the country.
Talking to APP, the professor who had been a teacher of many prominent personalities including the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, said that children easily comprehend lessons in mother tongue, therefore would learn quickly.
Similarly, he added that primary education is a forerunner of higher level and should be given more attention to produce quality talent in the country.
Answering a question, Masud said that the teachers' play a vital role in the nation building process should pay more attention to research works and writing books will also help them augmenting their income.
Further, the professor praised the education ministry for it's initiative of revising the curriculum, that would help meeting all contemporary and future requirements leading to socio-economic development.
