Two education department clerks held in fraud case

The anti-corruption establishment has arrested a clerk of Deputy District Officer, Education Daska, Muhammad Aslam Tahir and a senior clerk Mehboob Alam while taking bribe from a retired education department employee for preparing his pension papers, sent them to jail.
A resident of Kana'an Saein village, Tehsil Daska, Tahir Mahmood lodged a complaint with the ACE, saying his father Sabir Hussain could not get his pension dues after his retirement from the Education Department just because the District Accounts Office failed to prepare his pension case and send the same to the District Account Office, Sialkot.
The complainant alleged that a clerk of the Deputy District Education Office, Daska Muhammad Aslam Tahir and a senior clerk Mehboob Alam, were demanding gratification money for preparing the pension papers. The ACE officials planned a strategy to arrest the accused and raided the District Account Office under the command of Special Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Akram Azad and caught the clerk and senior clerk red-handed while they were receiving the gratification money from the complainant Tahir Mahmood.
The ACE has registered a case against the accused and sent them to jail for further investigation and recovered the gratification amount of Rs 5000.
