The Home Department Government of Sindh has notified that with the approval of competent authority, the Government of Sindh has constituted a Review Board under sub-section (4) of section 2 of Ordinance No IX of 2007 National Reconciliation Ordinance.
The composition of the Review Board shall be under Justice Ghous Muhammad (Retd) Judge of the High Court of Sindh will act as its Head/Chairman while Secretary Law, Government of Sindh; Advocate General, Prosecutor General Sindh will act as its members.
Under sub-section (3) of section 2 of the said ordinance, the Review board shall review the entire record of the pending cases of any person including an absconding accused who is found to be falsely involved for political reasons or through political victimisation in any case initiated between 1st day of January 1986 to 12th day of October 1999, as envisaged in the said Ordinance. Also furnish recommendation to the Government of Sindh as to their withdrawal from the prosecution or otherwise.
