Bridge over Indus River being built with over Rs 2,498 million cost

Punjab Minister for Communication and Works, Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din Khan has said that high level bridge over River Indus is being constructed with the cost of Rs 2,498.035 million.
He was presiding over a departmental meeting at his office chamber to review the pace of work, here Tuesday. Secretary C&W Muhammad Ahsan, Additional Secretary (Technical) Javed Akhtar Lodhi, Chief Engineer Highway (South) and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that high level bridge over River Indus between Bangla Ichha and Rojhan district Rahimyar Khan is being constructed. During the current fiscal year Rs 300 million has been allocated for this project while Rs 9 million has been spent.
The meeting also reviewed the pace of work on Jetha Bhutta to chowk Bahaadarpur district Rahimyar Khan. The meeting was informed that 66-km long said road would be widened up to 24 feet and this project would be completed at a cost of Rs 775.113 million. During the current fiscal year Rs 195 million had been earmarked while Rs 41 million has been spent.
Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din said that government is taking all possible steps to provide better means of communication to the people of far-flung and backward areas. He urged the officers to accelerate the pace of work on these projects and ensure transparent use of funds.
